What is Saving My Life Right Now

Let’s forget the introduction and jump to the good stuff. Here’s what’s saving my life right now:

Google Drive

What would I do without it? It’s how I organize assignments, keep track of presentations and materials, and create new content. Looking for ideas to organize your google drive? Check out episode 218 of the Afternoon Ti podcast.

Digital organization has truly changed how I do things over the past few years. Moving from paper everything to almost digital everything has saved me shelf space (goodbye 100’s of binders) and physical clutter. I love Google Drive. One of the best things I’ve ever done was doing my Google Educator Certifications in Levels one and two. I let my level 2 lapse, but want to take the test again so I can remember some of the great tools and ways to use it. Try the courses if you want to go deeper into Google!

Jenna Kutcher

As someone who is figuring out how to create meaningful content for teachers, opportunities for getting content out so that more music educators can find teaching ideas and build confidence in who they are, and create a brand that has clarity and consistency, I came upon Jenna Kutcher’s podcast and website recently and it has changed everything. When I listen to her, I feel like I could take on the world. That the hard things I’m working on and learning the things I don’t know how to do are possible. I’ve taken several of her free courses and continue to learn so much from her podcast ‘Goal Diggers.’ I have found actionable steps I can take and my confidence is growing in what is possible. Need a boost to help you pursue a dream? Go follow Jenna Kutcher: @jennakutcher on Instagram or head to her website at www.jennakutcher.com. She has a new book out called “How are You Really?” I’m about halfway through the book and loving it so much.

F-Flat Books

Sarah Gulish and her team at F-Flat Books are doing remarkable work for music educators and the world of publishing. I’ve met several new music educator friends as a result of this company through mostly virtual interactions at workshops, reading their books, using materials in the classroom and finally meeting up for FABSS in-person in Philadelphia two weeks ago. Sarah has this incredible ability to make you believe you can do anything and encourage you each step of the way until what you’ve dreamed of doing becomes a reality. F-Flat has given me a community of educator friends who are passionate about trying new things with students in the classroom, creating new content for teachers, and supporting each other along our teaching journeys. If you’re looking for an amazing community, come join us! Follow F-Flat on Instagram: @fflatbooks.

The Rockstar Planner

For months I’ve seen Sarah Gulish, co-founder of F-Flat Books, talk about the Rockstar Planner. from time to time. I’ve been planning life digitally, but finding it hard to keep up with everything so I purchased this planner to help keep me on track. It’s been the best thing I’ve purchased all year. My life is more organized. I can add in tasks, goals, habits, plans, commitments, meetings and areas of focus in one place. The Rockstar Planner was created by Suz Paulinski. Get it HERE or listen to the Afternoon Ti podcast episode 215 to hear all about it. Then go out and purchase it in either pdf form or paperback. It’s truly worth it.

Amazon Essentials T-shirts

Find them HERE! Pair them with skirts, jeans, under a blazer, or wear as a second layer under a sweater. Versatile, super soft, tons of color options and fits great. I find that it’s a little looser in the mid-section, but tighter on my arms. However, they’ll fit each of us a bit different because we’re all bit differently. What I do know is that at less than $10 for each (roughly $18.50 for a pack of two) they are amazing. The texture is my favorite part. SO soft. I ordered the 2-pack in all white and all black. Truly a perfect white tee or colored tee for pairing with lots of outfits.

My Husband

Cheesy. Maybe, but completely true. He supports all of my crazy dreams and aspirations and even adds ideas to help provide some vision along the way for what could be. Jeremy is my rock and he makes me laugh all the time. Definitely saving my life right now.
